What Are Aluminum Tee Fittings?
Aluminum tee fittings create a three-port junction between a main tube run and a branch connection. The component specification defines the size and position of each port, the branch orientation and the joining interface for the intended aluminum tube assembly.
At Yijin, we review the tee as a set of three controlled interfaces. A main-run dimension alone does not describe the branch fit or the clearance around the junction. Give each port an identifier and show the mating tube dimensions, insertion requirements and assembly datums. This makes quotation, sample approval and incoming inspection easier to compare.

Types of Aluminum Tee Fittings
The following configurations describe drawing-based options for aluminum tee fittings. Material, tooling, connection details and inspection requirements are reviewed before confirming the supplied part.

Equal-Size Aluminum Tees
Equal-size configurations use matching connection dimensions at the run and branch where required by the equipment design. Each port still needs a defined wall section, end fit and insertion length to establish the supplied component.
Reducing Aluminum Tees
Unequal-size configurations accommodate a branch or run connection with different dimensions. Identify ports A, B and C separately, and show actual mating sizes so the proposed geometry can be reviewed before quotation and sample manufacture.
Aluminum Tees with Formed Ends
Drawing-defined end features are reviewed with the mating material and joining method. Connection diameter, insertion length and surface preparation requirements form part of the approval specification; the end profile is confirmed during technical review.
Custom Branch-Orientation Tees
A project may require a particular branch angle, center height or clocking position. We review these coordinates from a common datum and agree the fixture or measurement method needed to check fit in the intended assembly.
Aluminum Tee Fitting Manufacturing & Processing
Yijin reviews the material specification, component geometry and connection interfaces before planning production. The agreed process covers forming, cutting and connection-end processing to the agreed design. The manufacturing scope follows the approved drawing and any agreed sample requirements.
Component Forming & Cutting
Forming and cutting operations are planned around the specified run, branch and connection geometry. Each port is identified on the drawing so its location and mating dimensions can be checked against the same reference. Tooling and any additional assembly operations are confirmed during technical review.
End Forming & Connection Preparation
Connection ends are prepared to the dimensions and profiles agreed for the component. Specify mating tube dimensions, insertion length, end orientation and joining requirements. End fit and surface condition are reviewed before sample approval so the component can be checked in its intended assembly.
Cleaning, Handling & Packing
Visual and cleanliness requirements are agreed with the purchase specification. Parts are checked for burrs, visible surface damage and deformation. Packing should protect the tube route, projecting branches and connection ends during handling and transport; identification and separation requirements can be included in the order.

Applications of Aluminum Tee Fittings
Aluminum Tee Fittings can be reviewed for three-port junctions in compatible aluminum tube assemblies. The images illustrate equipment categories and are not records of supplied Yijin projects.

Air Conditioning Systems
Used for three-port aluminum tube junctions in air conditioning tube layouts. The connection positions and installation envelope are defined around the equipment assembly. Material compatibility, vibration, support positions and access for joining must be reviewed for the intended circuit.

Refrigeration Equipment
Reviewed for three-port aluminum tube junctions in refrigeration equipment. Provide the refrigerant or other fluid, design conditions and joining requirements with the drawing. Component geometry and any requested validation are agreed for the project before confirming supply.

Heat Exchangers
Suitable configurations can be reviewed for three-port aluminum tube junctions in heat exchanger circuits. The junction shape does not by itself establish an equal flow split or calibrated distribution. The equipment designer establishes compatibility and operating limits.
Heat Pump Systems
For heat pump equipment, we review the proposed aluminum tee fittings against the tube layout, mating interfaces and installation space. Include service conditions, support locations and the intended joining process in the inquiry. The responsible system engineer should approve material compatibility, pressure and temperature limits, and any required assembly validation.
Custom Aluminum Tee Fittings for OEM Projects
Yijin supports OEM customers developing aluminum tee fittings with drawing-specific dimensions, connection ends and installation requirements. We review the part and its mating assembly before confirming sample and repeat-production arrangements.
Geometry & Critical Dimensions
Specify run and branch sizes, port position, branch angle and insertion length. Identify the dimensions that control assembly fit, distinguish them from reference dimensions and show the datum system used for inspection. A fixture or mating-fit check can be agreed where it improves sample approval.
Aluminum Alloy & Temper
State the exact material designation, governing standard, delivery condition and required documentation. Alloy and temper are reviewed together with the forming geometry and joining requirements.
Connection & Assembly Interfaces
Show insertion depth, end shape and the clear space needed for your joining process. Include a datum for branch clocking when the tee must align with another component or fixture. Review any copper-to-aluminum transition as a separate interface.
Samples, Packaging & Repeat Orders
Separate sample demand from recurring batch quantity. Agree the drawing revision, supplied scope, critical inspections and packing requirements with the quotation. Keep the approved sample record and any accepted deviations linked to repeat orders, and identify changes to mating parts or the joining process.
Quality Control & Inspection
Inspection focuses on the characteristics that affect component fit, joining and handling. The approved drawing, sampling plan and agreed acceptance criteria define the checks and records required for each order.
| Inspection Stage | What We Review |
|---|---|
| Three-port geometry | Check each specified connection dimension and the branch position against the defined port identifiers and datums. |
| Connection-end quality | Review insertion features, end condition, burrs and mating fit, including any agreed gauge check. |
| Junction & cleanliness | Define visual acceptance for the junction and the cleanliness requirements for the internal flow paths. |
| Assembly validation | Agree any leak, pressure or other test for the component or completed joint, with conditions and acceptance criteria. |
Inspect the sample in its intended mating assembly as well as an individual component. Additional testing and document requirements are confirmed before production, including the method, conditions and acceptance limits.

Aluminum Tee Fittings FAQs
Can Yijin make aluminum tees with different run and branch sizes?
We can review equal-size and unequal-size port configurations against your drawing. Specify each connection separately, including tube OD or mating dimensions, wall requirement, insertion length and branch position. Material, tooling and inspection needs are assessed before we confirm the proposed component and quotation.
Is an aluminum tee a refrigerant distributor?
A tee provides a three-port junction. It should not be treated as a calibrated distributor or as a guarantee of equal refrigerant flow. The circuit designer evaluates flow behavior and system requirements. Send any distribution or performance criteria with the drawing so they can be included in the project review.
Can the branch direction be customized?
Send the required branch angle, center height and orientation relative to a defined datum. We review the geometry with the material and manufacturing route. Where orientation is critical, agree a fixture or mating-fit check so the approval method matches how the tee is installed in your assembly.
How should the aluminum joining method be specified?
State the mating material, connection geometry and joining process in the assembly specification. Include any surface preparation and inspection requirements that affect the supplied end. We review these details before sample approval rather than assuming that a connection designed for copper is suitable for an aluminum tee.
Which dimensions should we inspect first?
Prioritize the three mating interfaces and the branch position. Then check dimensions that control installation clearance and support location. Identify these characteristics on the drawing and agree the measuring method or fixture. A defined inspection plan is more useful than applying one general tolerance to every feature.
What is needed for a repeat order?
Quote the approved part number, drawing revision, material specification, sample approval record and packing requirement. Tell us if any mating tube, assembly fixture or joining process has changed. We review those changes before repeating supply, because a tee that is unchanged on paper may face a different assembly interface.
